The estate was acquired by Prince Strozzi in the year 2000, and from it one can admire one of the most suggestive panoramas in the Maremma. The estate is located close to the very beautiful village of Montemassi, liberated in the Middle Ages by Cavalier Guidoriccio on behalf of the Republic of Siena.
The number of large stones, excavated during the works to convert to vineyards, inspired the present name. Here one breathes the air of medieval times, symbolised by the immense fascination evoked by the ancient site of Montemassi.
The estate is dedicated to vineyards of Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Ancellotta and other interesting experimental vines. In 2004 there was completed the building of a new cellar, the architecture of which blends perfectly with the enchanting countryside. |
