One of the main centres of the Maremma hills, lying halfway between Mount Amiata and the Tirrenian sea. Its area benefited early in the 1600s from important drainage works and from successive investment by large landowners.

The estate is situated on the road that connects the Via Aurelia to the capital, between the Valleys of the Ombrone and the Albegna.
A zone rich in archaeological finds, it benefits from an abundant rainfall, concentrated particularly in the autumn and the spring. The hills act as a filter for the warmth of the sea breezes and for the mediterranean sun, creating ideal conditions for the growing of grapes.
